Recreational Gymnastics

Our gymnastics programs typically run from August through June. Summer offerings vary from year-to-year depending on staffing, but may include camps and other fun events in the month of July. At this age boys and girls separate into different classes as they begin to specialize in gender specific events. They are grouped by age first, then by ability as children progress. Our school age gymnastics program at Tumble follows compulsory level skills set by USA Gymnastics. We do not offer a school age boys program at this time.

Gymnastics skills are broken down into age-appropriate progressions, with a focus on technique and safety. They are demonstrated and explained for our visual and auditory learners, then spotted as needed for tactile and kinesthetic learners. 

Students rotate through uneven bars, balance beam, floor, vault and trampoline. They are grouped by age first, then by ability as children progress. Small class sizes and an emphasis on technique lay the foundation for success at Tumble. 

Each class is designed to promote healthy motor development; with opportunities to balance, bounce, jump, swing, spin, roll, slide, climb and tumble on equipment designed and sized just for them. We worked hard to create a safe space for children to test their physical limits, to take risks and make mistakes. Physical benefits include increased cardio health, muscle development, core strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, postural control, balance and more.

At a frequency appropriate to class level, creative movement songs, games and activities are woven into our classes. All sorts of props are utilized to keep lesson plans engaging and FUN!

We truly care about building self-confidence and making this a joyful experience for your child. Students learn to support, work and collaborate with their peers. To persevere through constructive feedback, mistakes and difficult to “get” skills. We are continually working towards building a growth mindset.
